Customer informationThe Oral Check, allows assessment of caries risk. The main factors for caries risk assessment are predisposition (saliva, family history, fluoride, oral hygiene), presence of acidogenic bacteria, and type of diet (carbohydrates). Caries risk assessment allows preventive measures to be put in place in high-risk patients and delay the time for intervention in low-risk patients.<g id="2"/>The check-up assesses caries history, oral health status, saliva characteristics (salivary flow and buffering power), degree of fluoridation, and dietary habits. The client who plans to perform the Oral Check, must present at least 1 hour fasted; otherwise, he/she will not be able to perform the second part of the check (pH check, salivary flow, and saliva buffering capacity) and must wait at least 1 hour before undergoing the examination. The final report will provide the client with indications of: caries susceptibility based on 'processing of data from the risk factor questionnaire; indicators of susceptibility related to saliva acidity, buffering power, and salivary flow amount.<g id="3"/> The customized report includes good dental hygiene practices and information useful in maintaining good oral health and preventing caries.
